Umm Adam, regarding your callan park series, what's the netiquette regarding hot-linking to, say, facebook?

I overheard a nice old bloke order it at The Australian a few weeks ago.. Scared the heck outta me until I realised he was referring to a drink..

In general, it's not considered ok - some people consider it 'stealing' bandwidth. Some sites will specifically allow or disallow it in their terms of use. I don't know about facebook but generally they do anything they can to generate traffic so I'd say it'd be ok. Mine in those threads are linked from redbubble and while I'm not sure they're ok with that, I did make every photo a link to that photo's page so that redbubble can get some publicity from it.

No, our screen developed a bit of a pigeon splat in Melbourne. I was there as tech-support in Perth. Muse were cool. Tool bitched mightily about a green stripe in Melbourne that myself and a colleague (flown in from Sydney) spent from 6:30 to around around 11 am in Adelaide progressively breaking the screen in an attempt to make it work. Tool (or more correctly their management) lived up to their name. Chinese technology=no circuit diagrammes. When it works, it is the definition of awesomeness. The rest of the time it's "pack up, piss orf, go home". Did I mention that it weighs 43 tonnes? No, we didn't do the on-stage stuff (and yes, trellis screens are freaking amazing), we did stage left. Except in Perth.

My idiot of the week was an Australian.

On Thursday night I was shooting Lily Allen - there were approx 10 accredited photographers in the photo pit for 1st 2 songs only and then out. Some girl was shooting with a G11 and was constantly holding it up at arms length and getting her stupid arm and camera in other togs shots.

I ended up knocking her hand out of the way and giving her a short sharp ear bashing.

What a pro, shooting with a G11!

I shot with my umbrella and that just now. A bit frustrated that my CTR-301P's make the flash head so much higher because it really disrupts it. Can't plug it in through the PC sync though because the flashes don't have ports Not to mention that at the moment, I can't really point it down at all because the umbrella hits the light stand. Any solutions to that one?

That certainly is all the chinese technology we have, except ours have a nasty habbit of catching fire when they don't like you
