Off to bed now. Can't wait for tomorrow to try out the new lighting gear better! Hopefully I can find a way around the shortcomings of my CTR-301P's nudging the flash just that little bit too high

Edit: Oh and the 2.5m stands are so much better than the 1.8m one! Even without using the full range, it's just good having it there to go taller than me rather than the "1.8m" that is shorter than me because I'm definitely not 180cm tall.

A club full of **** on a Friday night?

No idea! I didn't know what to make of it, TBH :-)

Nice one Mic :)

Cheers. I always worry they're gonna get too boring, but working with what you've got is serving the purpose of the exercise.

Nice DOF although a little too blue for me Juice.

Yeah, I cranked the BLUE very deliberately :-)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

They shouldn't get boring if you can manage to plan the shots with a theme or something like that. My problem would be being creative enough and finding the time to take a shot decent shot every day.

Ps. I thought you might have.

Yeah, it's really a case of prioritising it, I'm finding. I don't really have a theme, but I'm trying to shoot as much around the local area as I can - Collingwood, Richmond, Fitzroy, East Melbourne.

Ps. I thought you might have.

Yeah, fits the theme :-)

We had wind, drizzle, rain and sunshine.

Had the 7D with 17-40 and UV filter to help water proof the front element, and the 40D with the 100-400, all went well, except I was half way down a cliff face at the turn point when I slipped and saved myself from becoming a human souffle fail on the rocks below, but in the process i bumped the 40D and the settings changed, so it was only shooting jpeg for the last half..

Glad you saved yourself and that that was the only damage! I don't even get how a bump can do such a thing? Seems odd to me.

+1, must have been one of a kind of bump to be able to navigate through the menus o_O
