I'm posting eight more iamges tonight. I don't want to overdo it and I know how slow my server is (it's in my house and it's not the server but the 128K baud upload on my ADSL line

).

I hope you enjoy them,

= Ed =

Anywhoo, there was lots of time to swim and play in the streams, creeks and waterfalls. The Colorado was very cold, but the tributaries were generally much warmer. They were a very refereshing change from the hot, hot Canyon temperatures of midday.

The Little Colorado River is amazing. The high calcium carbonate content of the water gives it this surreal powder-turquoise-blue color that you see in the photos. I didn't muck with the color here - it's what the camera saw, and if anything it's a bit muted from the actual color of this amazing river.

Very near where the Little Colorado dumps into the Colorado River, there are some wonderful places to body surf the mini-rapids. Our group became very close knit and mostly went down these rapids in long "trains".

Fantastic photos again Ed, your exposures are spot on particularly of the waterfalls, just the right amount of motion in the water. I love that shot with the shale rock at water level, contrasting with the other strata colours, excellent.

They are stunning - Elve's Chasm Waterfall has to be my favorite in this batch - fantastic work, I agree with Bikerider about the exposures, well done.

All these are fantastic, but I prefer the amount of "motion" on the Stone Creek Waterfall. Just enough to see it, but can still make out the water itself. The others have just a little too much blur for me, but I really do like them all. Great composition and exposure...not that I know anything anyway...still only have my kit lens!

Hello Ed,

Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. That was a great adventure that I can only dream of, here in the north woods. Your photos were professional and inspiring.

Again, thanks for taking the time.

Kent County, New Brunswick, CANADA
has to be one of the world's best kept secret. It is bordered by the sea to the east and is made up of small villages, farms, forest, brooks and rivers. I have lived here all my life and
would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you so very much for the kind words gang. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

DeltaWebb - I usually take many photos of waterfalls with varying shutter speeds and then decide after the fact which ones I like best in each case. In the case of the Deer Creek waterfall, there was enough spray, and I was paranoid enough about my camera gear, that I only took a couple of shots. In retrospect, this was one waterfall that would probably have looked better with "frozen" water. But then, hidhsight is 20-20. As for the others, I just chose the image that appealed to me the most as I was processing them.

Monday I hope to post some images of Beaver Falls in the Havasu Canyon. That was a very long, hot hike, and I opted not to carry the tripod, so I pretty much just have frozen water for that falls.
