I am considering spending a little extra to purchase the ID MKIII and want to know if I should consider buying the 1D MKIV instead. Can anyone share with me the difference (pros & cons) between both cameras?
bw!

MKIV
* True ISO 6400
* Excellent LCD
* 16mp
* Better AF for tracking (unverified but probably true)

The ISO perfomance on the mkIV is enough for me to get it over the mkIII. Not saying the mkIII is not a great camera but I like my 1dmkIV more..

The ISO and AF were enough to sell me on it.

What sold me on it and what I like most about it (1D4):

- High ISO is amazing
- Improved AF system
- Vastly improved LCD screen (big-big-big improvement)
- I really like the new AF point selection on the new body, it's amazing

I couldn't be happier with the upgrade from the 1D3 to the 1D4. Well worth it.

I could be wrong, but the metering isn't new either.

They forgot to include the "wow" in my Mark IV box. It's "OK". A major upgrade over my Mark III, no. A useful replacement for my tired Mark II, yes.

Is the additional MP of the MKIV actually noticeable in photos compared to the MKIII, say in prints around 13"x19"?

Wow! The MKIV sounds impressive and definitely look like a camera to have down the line.
