I got out and shot another round of star trails last night I am happier with this result despite the obvious light pollution issues from street lights. lol No clouds at least!

G'mae all. We have much improvement over here. Will need some asthma meds for the next couple days to keep her lungs improving, but she's much more perky and much less scared. Even had enough energy to yell at her brother this morning and tattle on him, lol!

Nice yard indeed. I'd love to have a back yard like that. Mine is SO not like that at all. And I'm not referring to the snow. Maybe I need to do a backyard pano too? lol

I guess it's like anything else. You shoot what you like. Some people like insects, some like cities. I happen to like landscapes and stars. Taking long exposures of the night sky is an old technique. Usually you have to have super dark skies so you can leave your shutter open for hours. With the method I'm using I can shoot 100 30 second exposures (50 minutes of frames) in fairly light-polluted areas and still get star trails. Now that I'm getting the hang of the technique, I can find more interesting places to take the photos.

I do like some star trail shots more than others....the ones where you get the almost circular trails.

Up still dealing with asthmatic kiddo. She's pretty sick, but not anything new for us. Poor kid seems to get everything that comes down the pike. Thankfully, its under control....4 neb treatments (per the doc) since 4pm.
