I can't wait to see how you like it Fafa, I am torn between it and an 85 for my next purchase, but I can't afford the L version of the 85.

I'm interested too.

I do so adore my 85 1.8....it's rarely off my camera.

I can be a little dense at times.

So I've noticed. ;) :p

I don't get too awful excited about new camera stuff, keen would be a better descriptor. Probably because I don't use what I have often enough lately.

What I am getting excited about as far as purchases go, is setting up a nice woodworking shop here at home. Most of the tools I have, or have had, were absorbed into the company. Many need replacing, plus there is stuff I never had that I will be getting. I used to do lots of woodworking before starting my company, then backed away from it when I ended up doing it as part of 'the job'. Now I am keen to do a few projects for myself. Tool shopping has become fun for me once again. :p

Oh, and getting pumped to head out on this ski trip in 3 1/2 weeks. :D

Funny, Dan.

FWIW, I didn't know what that button did, either.:o:o

Same as the one you used to have, doesn't it?

DUDE!! I just saw this....now we know!

John, the abandon all hope thread.

That, and I never made any secret about it. I didn't point them to any specific place, just told 'em to get out of their little tent into the bigger world . . . Seems to have worked - there are only a couple of them who don't turn up outside that thread more than inside it any more.

Really nice. Did everything I could have asked, and at ISO 800 or higher the whole time (moving dinghies and long lenses are a tricky combo). Started getting stuff up at jonbarrettphoto.smugmug.com/Travel/Galapagos, mostly from the 5D2 so far.

I do like some star trail shots more than others....the ones where you get the almost circular trails.

I think you have to be shooting the north star to get circular trails. And for longer than 50 minutes also.

Very nice star trails, Kody. I too am extremely interested in getting some good star trails. Not easy from where I am now, but when I get to my in-laws, with the low light pollution, it should give me ample opportunity to get some, when the weather is good! Hopefully I can get something nice out there.

Thanks dude. I think even in Boston area you could get some decent trails. Just do 30 second exposures like I've been doing, could probably get away with shorter if needed. Even with the light shining across my image I still managed to get some trails. My next attempt is hopefully going to include the Narrows Bridge so I can get some car headlight/tail light trails also. :) Or I'm going to go down to a ferry dock and see if I can get some interesting foreground elements. Get out and try it at any rate! :)
