Got a call from Lorraine. Looks like they are coming home with 2 dogs.
Little Texas who was one of our new owner released dogs. She walks funny.
And Parker. *sigh* They loved him, he got an A+ on his temperament test, but he had scaly skin. He'd recently been shaved all over to remove some pretty nasty matting. His skin has probably never before seen sunlight. Of course it's going to be dry and scaly.

*sigh*

Stupid reason. Stupid stupid.

That's ok.... they took 10 puppies, and 5 other dogs: Chance the yellow lab, Cookie the black lab, Asia (YAY!), Misty the black lab, and Licorice the black lab.

I guess it was a Lab-y trip.  5 of the pups were black labs too.

Cat -the femine feline with the namby arms. Loquacious, but not to a fault.

I admire those of you who went through stormy seas at any point in your lives...that sounds like about as much fun as an earthquake in my book...

I dunno, a little rumbler isn't too bad. Puts life in perspective. There's something about being on a large ship and having it being batted about like it was a small bath toy. The ship I was on was small in comparison to the Navy guys, only 180'. But it's been through some really ugly seas and swells. Very humbling, yet awe inspiring event.

*waves*

(Ha! Waves!). I've never been on a 'real' boat. Canoes, kayaks, fishing boat on the lake. That's it.
And I LOVED our little storm in the canoe. But never once was my life in danger.

 I've spent much of the first half of my life on the ocean, from just a wee 'un thru my 20's. I've always considered it a part of my life, like a skeleton or blood. It's surprises me to find people who have never been out on the Big Blue Wet Thing.

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.

Little Polly (the rat terrier) is on a sleepover. Looks like a great fit, and they will most likely adopt her.

Star and Jasmine both got spayed today, so they are both sleeping and doped up.

We have someone coming tomorrow to meet Mosey the hound, and someone coming Friday to meet Serra!

WOO HOO!

And that concludes my dog update of the day.

Sounds like overall it was a pretty great day, C@!

I just listened to my friend Sandi (the bakery lady) tell me about her day. Wooo doggy...my kids might have been hyper, but I'll take that any day! And yet, she has the grace to laugh about it, she's pretty cool.

Yeah, me too. I think my parents first threw me in the ocean when I was Jawa's age. I was body surfing in eight foot waves in Hawaii when I was eleven...

Thanks Cat.

I'm alright. It kind of feels like yesterday was a dream. It was very hard to be beside her when she went, but it was important to both of us. I went to go do the obligatory "identify the body" at the funeral home today. It kind of brought the real-ness back. I've been trying to keep myself busy with other things so I don't dwell on it.

I'm just glad she's out of her pain now.
