Good Evening everyone. Our taxes are in process...they are at the Tax prepares office. Diane - we hope to know something soon...

They are doing well Tiff, thanks for asking. Yesterday was moms 75th birthday, we took the kids up andhad a little party in the board room at the place. I didn't take any pictures, as per my moms request ;)

She is doing very well in her PT and I think they will be out in about a week.

Sounds like your Mom is doing a great job recovering Crissa.

Morning all. :)

Woke up to an eagle landing in the tree right outside our sliding glass doors off the balcony. With the red mountains in the background and a gorgeous blue sky. (Sorry Terri).

*sigh* Beautiful. Peaceful.

Nice way to wake up

Here are a couple shots from today (just a few minutes ago, actually):

QUOTED IMAGE

Poor Minnie hardly ever gets to sleep in her crate any more. For about a month now, Tupper always seems to be in there! And, now for the past week or two, Kitteh is in there more often than not, as well. When it's time for me to go to work, and I have to crate Minnie for the duration, I always have to evict at least one cat. I think I'm going to have to get another crate...

Looks like you might. I thought Marky was big at 18 pounds.

All you readers out there. I'm looking for input. I'm looking to start some new series of books and looking for opinions. I've finished the Sandford Prey series, which I liked, the Connelly Harry Bosch series, which was also good and looking for something along those lines. Anyone got a favorite?

JJ, John and I have both gotten into the Anna Piegon Series by Navada Barr. They fit into the mystery genre and are good.

You'd be really surprised. :) They do priority the same day that they bake. Which might mean that there's a delay in shipping, but....its pretty amazing. IDK how the heck (or why) she does it, but Sandi seems to love it.

Anne of Green Gables. Misty of Chincoteague. Clan of the Cave Bear. That's all I got, lol...haven't had time to read much other than a short article here and there for a LONG time.

That was fun. :-S Took both kids, by myself, to an event where they had a couple guys from the local hockey team (AHL) signing autographs. The players were late, there was a line out the door and my kids BOTH decided to cop 'tudes. The attitudes are gone now. They are doing chores. :-|

sorry about the kid tude. Is Blondie still adjusting from spending 10 days as the sole person getting Grandma and Grandpa attention?

Skrim17 wrote in post #9622906 (external link)
They have days at school that are all about a certain student, they fill out these forms about their favorite things and take in photos. The teacher told me that Eli had the most chores out of any student. He is 8, he feeds and brushes the cat, takes out the garbage and recycling, puts the laundry from the washer into the dryer and when we take the sheets off once a week he is in charge of taking them off and putting them back on when clean. I keep thinking he needs more...

That is about the amount of chores I had at that age. Let's wait 10 years and see which child is more responsible.

If you like a bit of the Science Fiction/Fantasy: Jim Butcher's Dresden (external link) series is fantastic! I will read anything written by him.

Lisa! Changes is coming out soon!

They are wonderful. I read the entire series in about 3 weeks.

Kona is master of getting the treats out of the kongs. It takes him no time at all. This treat ball has a spiral on the inside. It takes him time and effort to get the treats out. It took Hale 2 hrs. K's had it for a while now and would have cleared the kong by now. I'm thinking this is a good toy!

Might have to look into this for Buddy - although it is not a yellow Kong dumb bell - so he may have no interest in it.

from Hawaii...our buddy the fish. He/she? hung out with us at every snorkel. Always so close we could never fully photograph it.

It was always like "ahhh, there you are...let me show you around my ocean".

Looks like you might.

If you had asked me three years ago what I thought about crates for pets, I woulda given you an ear-ful about how much I thought they were such a bad idea. Now, I'm thinking I need a second one because the furkids are fighting each other over the one we have... (Yet, not one of them will go in the freaking doghouse that's in the bedroom! It's the same size as the crate! It just doesn't have a door on the front that closes... )

I have always crate trained out pups and they have always took to them easily. After a bit I don't even bother closing the door, they just prefer spending the night in their crate. It also makes traveling much easier and safer.

*jealous*

I miss winter already...

But, now that it's warming up around here, I'm kinda anxious to see how my poppies do. My friend with the farm/vineyard in Central California gave me a big bag of poppy seeds when I was up there for Christmas. They have tons of poppies growing on their land and she harvests the seeds. I spent most of January tossing poppy seeds around in the field where I walk Minnie. I wonder how many of them will bloom this year and how many will remain dormant for future years...
