It is so cool, that you know what to look for. When I am watching birds my dialogue goes something like this:

ooooo....lookit the blue one!
*gasp* The yellow one! Holy moly it is bright!

HOCK!! Did you SEE that big black one??

 Field Guides have been my friends for a long time. There are two by the patio window for just this reason. You should see me identify the song birds by their...well...songs. Drives Curt nuts, though I think he finally recognizes a Cardinal when he hears one.:D

mom and dad are safely ensconced in their house, all is well with the world.

Good to hear, Crissa.

Great set-o-shots Jim. Especially the daddy long legs.

Thanks, one of my all time favs too.

oh gosh. I watched that Canadian figure skater (on video) from last night. My gosh that must have been so hard for her. The father was weeping in the stands. Even the announcers could hardly speak through tears. wow.

I have never seen more of an emotional standing ovation either. Many damp eyes in the audience too.

I am hating my timing on this trip. The date was set long before I realized the timing of the Olympics. I am going to miss the hockey finals. :(
After mid afternoon on Friday, I will lose phone and radio contact, though the lodge we are eating and staying at on Friday night does have satellite TV. ;)

Well, it is back on the campaign trail I go for an hour of so. Will try to be less chatty tonight, I have lots of stuff to do before leaving later tomorrow.

How does one safely walk a black dog in the dark?

No kidding and what really sucks is that she was in first by almost 2 tenths of a second when they stopped her.
