I think my dogs have kennel cough. ughhhh So do I only take them to the vet if it gets really bad? I've read some on the internet about it. Alot of sites say that it will go away on it's own.

I would treat it. It can can really bad and uncomfortable before it gets better. Keep them away from other dogs.

My fur kid had had it a few times, usually after boarding. 1/2 of it is he barks himself silly I'm sure but it always goes away in a few days.

When Maggie got it I took her in. The guy at the day care said to not worry about it and it would go away on its own. I felt better taking her in. Her doc gave her antibiotics.

The bordatella vaccine is only good for 6 months. Are they honking like geese? If so, that's it.

What kind of birds? They look a little like the Sparrows we get around here, except for the red.

T.D. wrote in post #9694053 (external link)
They're either House Finches or Purple Finches. I can never tell them apart.

Or both, they are both quite prevalent around here. I'll be able to tell better in a few weeks when their breeding plumage is thicker.

And not only did I get my wish to meet Wally, he is now our newest foster.

I want to know all about it. He looks like a sweet heart.

Back to measuring, scoring, snapping and holding. And in between, some demolition. :D I'm taking down the peg board so we can get dry wall up where it is currently hanging.

Sounds fun Becky, I spent an hour digging my car out of the snow, ran some errands for my mom and then had a nap. Eli isn't feeling well and is riding the couch.

Thanks, guys. They were boarded a few weeks ago. Winston just started in with a funky cough yesterday and now Cricket does it occasionally. It's not bad yet and it sounds more like they are trying to couch something up. Not a honking. On one of the sites I went to it had a video of what it sounds like and yep, sounds like trying to cough something up. They were all vaccinated a couple weeks before boarding so I don't understand why they would get it anyway.

The "trying to cough something up" is the first phase.

From what I understand there are numerous strains of bordatella (like the human flu). So the vaccine may not have caught the particular strain they were exposed to.

back from a book sale and on our way to walk the dogs....

The book sale was at a fairgrounds. Large room in a small town so we thought "no problem" but oh wow. The whole town was in there. It was SO impossible to get to tables (and the boxes stacked under them)...we left an hour later with a half a box of books. Dan left a bit earlier stating serious trauma to his psyche...

The hummers are exercising their wings. One of them was just standing up on the edge of the nest and flapping like crazy. By the time I got a long lens on the camera it had stopped. It won't be long before my babies are gone... :(

EDIT: I was just able to get a series of shot of the mother feeding them!! The shots are a bit backlit and I hope I can improve that in PP.

I want to see more bubble wrap bursting in here. This thread is coming to it's end with a real deficient void of bubbles burst.
