I just downloaded MPEG Streamclip and it works great (plus it's free)! Then use Adobe Premier Pro, Sony Vegas, Final cut Pro if you're a MAC user. See this link as the same applies for the 7D https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=624302 7D | 50 f/1.4 | 85 f/1.8 | 135 f/2 L | 430EX II

Thanks! First thing to do, rename from .mov to .mp4 so you can disable quicktime. If you don't care too much about previews in real time, you can skip the transcoding. if not, link above or megui. If you have an nvidia gtx 285 graphics card, just download the premiere pro 4.2 update, and you'll get hardware acceleration, which means no need to ever transcode. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I mean there's always Windows Movie Maker but that stuff is garbage unless you're just trying to make some VERY basic and VERY limited videos. If you're wanting to do some decent editing you'll need to skip WMM. 7D | 50 f/1.4 | 85 f/1.8 | 135 f/2 L | 430EX II

Its a pc Pent 4 cpu 3ghz 2.99 ghz 2g ram Not sure of the video card I bought when I got this computer a few years ago but I went with the best for photo editing so that should work. Hopefully my computer has enough muscle to edit videos, cant afford a new one right now. I have no video editing software right now so upgrading is not an option I'm guessing. From what I've gathered I'd need to download that streamclip and buy some software correct? Thx for the help! Sorry, your computer probably can't even play 720p, let alone edit 720p... and forget about 1080p. Unless you didn't properly state your computer. Chances are, if it's more than 4 years old now, it's pretty much useless. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. PC with what? inside or maybe a mac this time? And what does my computer need to play/edit 1080p? More ram or what? Your best performance will be an i7-based computer, but you can still edit with even a dual-core, provided it is of sufficient speed. Even my MacBook Air (1.66 ghz Core 2 Duo) plays my 5Dii video files without any dropped frames. But I don't do any editing with it - for that I have a quad-core and used Final Cut Express. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

It will run editing software fine. Rendering takes a while though. Wouldn't mind a quad core. 7D | 50 f/1.4 | 85 f/1.8 | 135 f/2 L | 430EX II

Check out the dell studio xps 8100. i7 upgrade+8gb ram = ~1050. You can spend the other 250 on a 23" 1080p (IPS) screen I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution.
