I printed out 4 DOF Charts (28mm, 55mm, 70mm, 250mm which are the min and max of the 2 lenses I own) from DOF Master's website. I figured they would be useful for me. Can someone tell me if I'm understanding the chart correctly?

At Focal length 55mm:

If I'm using F/5.6 and standing 10 feet from my subject the area that will be in focus is from 9'.05" to 11'2" and the rest will be a bit blurry?

Thank you in advance for helping me!

Right, you are reading them correctly. Be aware of the following points...

1. The DOF calculations use standards for acuity of the human eye, which are NOT even equal to the standards of visual acuity for 20-20 vision, so a real person will perceive lack of sharpness even though DOF calculators say otherwise!

2. The typical DOF calculator assumes viewing an 8x10 from about 10", so if you make a larger/smaller print and/or view it from a different distance, the DOF table is likely to be meaningless.

Thank you both for your replies, I appreciate it. Wilt, those are good points I'll take them into consideration as well.
