My 1 year old 85 F1.8 is not the same lens it was last BBall season. It's been slow to focus unlike the past year where it was lightning quick.
It was never dropped or abused at all but sometimes it doesn't even want to focus, it just sits there.Anyone else have this problem with this lens,or is this a common problem??
thanks,
Paul

Exact same gym and conditions.I'm missing more shots OOF and it's pretty easy to tell that the focus is not as sharp.I hope I don't have to send it back at least not until the BBall season is over.

I had that happen with a 50 1.4 as the focus motor was crapping out. The 85 1.8 still works great though. I would test the lens on another body just to make sure it's the lens though. It's about $250 to replace the AF though. :(
