I don't understand. The bride says they like how I bring out the personalities of the people in my photos, and then she hires me for 1 hour just to take formals of her family and the wedding party.

I wrote up a list of photo ideas, none of them bland formal shots, and we didn't use more than 1 or 2 because she wanted to have specific photos of specific family members and so on.

The chapel provides formal photos. Why hire me for that?

I am sure it sucks, and not the most fun, but getting paid is getting paid, right?

Thats how it is here in Norway, It is not common to use a photographer more than for b&g shots.

I was under a general impression that they were going to have me do some photos of different style. Maybe it has something to do with how I handled the situation?

The chapel photos aside, they just want a lot of "wall hangers" and prefer you do them.

well it is not exactly the same but I am hired to do a wedding photo set like that. This is only because they are getting married in costa rica and then they will have a large reception in the states the next week. So the B&G wanted me to do formals ,the reception, and put it in a book and thats it. This will be a first for me.

I guess it is not common to spend a lot of money on photographer either... As far as I know most people get their shots, between the ceremony and dinner. Usually the photos are taken in studio.

But I see more and more weddingpictures from location.

If you are in this as a business, suck it up and do it, unless you have a better opportunity elsewhere.
