Just gotten into the photography not too long ago.. Been reading alot about the hobby etc and yesterday was my first "official" day i spend outside with my camera. The Zoo seems like an excellent place to practice my photography skills.

Out of roughly 1600 pics that i took (24gb) Only about 350~ was worth keeping. And out of those, these are probably my best work.

Enjoy and C&C is welcomed!!

A day well-spent! Some excellent pictures here, hard to believe you are new to this. I especially like the second shot of the lion =)

Thanks alot for the feedback. I love the 2nd shot as well, it's rare that we see a "cute" adult lion :D

Anyway, critiques are welcome'd as well. It'll help me grow as a photographer!!

Yes it does. The filtered green light thru the leaves on it's head makes it pop out more :)

Great shots. I really like the first lion shot, nice composition. I am going to disagree on the Cobra and say I would have liked it a little wider to get more of what makes a cobra a cobra (the hood). I would not have known it was a cobra if you didn't tell us (but then again I really don't like snakes - 2 run-ins with rattlers is enough to scare me off. I'm a city girl). However, I would have liked a tighter shot on the eyelash viper to show us how it got its name.

I also think the meerkat shot is very good. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
