Hi Everyone,

Here are a few of my favourites from the Tour Down Under (our version of the Tour De France) that I shot over the weekend. This was the final stage with Lance Armstrong somewhere in the group... not sure what he looks like as he kind of blends in when these guys are all geared up.

This was my first attempt shooting cycling at a major event so I learnt that I will definately be brining a 8' step ladder next time to get over the crowd.

The rest of them in the gallery can be seen here (external link).

Some of my favourites:

The major races are definitely a bit of a challenge with the crowds. You did a good job for your first effort.

Good job with these Scott.
The stuff on your site was pretty nice too.
A couple of things though - nothing major - a lot of them seem to have red/magenta cast to them and a few would benefit from a tighter crop.

Have to agree with you about the crowds - makes it a bit hard sometimes, but moving around helps.

Just did a quick edit - about 10 secs - on this to remove the red cast.
Tweaked the "Red" channel in curves

Thanks for the advice. I have a rubbish TN samsung monitor that is no doubt needing a calibration. Could WB account for the colour cast? I just went with the the standard 'daylight' preset from ACR on import.

Again thanks for the tip.

Hi Scott,
No Worries.
Your monitor might be the source of the problem re the colour cast
Despite what some people say/suggest, and this could open a can of worms, but I always use AWB in camera and have never had a problem - maybe just lucky.

Edit: PS - Looks like we were shooting from the same spot at one stage, possibly the same time
I'll get my Sunday shots up shortly.
Still working on some corporate stuff from the Mutual Community ride
