as the title says, i've been taking photos in the sun and the result is not very good. The glare is very very strong and over-exposed as well. A sample is here http://www.flickr.com …scribblenauts/4302811201/ (external link)

Do I need a polarising filter to weaken the glare from the sunlight? I forgot to play around with the exposure itself so I am not sure if lowering it would fix it ><

Midday sun is probably the worst and hardest light to photograph in.I would try different exposures and different areas to meter from .

It might be possible to tone it down with curves or levels in PP but I cant try it as you dont allow Image editing.

Having said that Dynamic range is your enemy here - your camera can only capture part of that range.

And unless you are at 90 deg to the sun, a polariser will be of little effect in toning that down.

Set your camera to spot metering or centered metering.

Also if sky is in the photo try and get a Natural Density filter I've tested one and wow makes a difference.
