I was fortunate enough to visit a couple of friends who live on the southern outskirts of Ottawa. In the winter they regularly feed wild turkeys who frequent their wooded property.

These are full framed images from Saturday morning as two Toms posed beside each other for the surrounding hens.

I was really overloaded with the Sigma 50-500mm so I'll be going back with the 70-200mm next time.

1. Up close and personal
2. The two Toms passing each other showing off their prowess.

Very nice shots Stephen. so are these guys fairly tame? I mean, they don't run off at 100 miles an hour if they see you? Great opportunity.

Thanks Mitch, Scott, Dave, Ken and Downy.

Mitch these birds are relatively accustomed to humans, at least to the lady who feeds them regularly. As long as she was there, and there was still food available, I could be around but once she went inside they headed back into the woods and didn't let me approach at all.
