I started this thread to see if there was enough interest in having a BBQ/ Strobe Car shoot at Kaena Point on the weekend of Feb. 13-14.

The shoot is geared toward a late afternoon/sunset/dusk time frame, with BBQ lunch and munch. Setup time should start about a couple of hours before sunset to get everything going right.

Reply here and we'll discuss other particulars ie- food, gear, meet-up time, etc. if there's enough of us that can attend.

I'm in for the 13th.

I will probably be there from about 8 to 9-ish AM just to act lazy and mess around with the gear. I need the down time anyway.

I will also bring a Weber charcoal grill, two canopies, chairs, table, cooking utensils, condiments, a couple of gas lanterns, flashlights.

If the weather turns bad at Kaena, would having the shoot at Keehi Lagoon Park suffice? (just throwing it out there)

As of Jan. 27th for the 13th of Feb.

Tentatively Attending - Zenghost, Stu46, Kylerkwock, Phocal, Linkzi

Wishing us well - Ishida, Samanax

The Grinds:
Phocal - 10 cup rice, rib eye steaks, corn on the cob for roasting, snacks, brats and buns, bottled water
Linkzi - Drinks and snacks

The Gear:
Phocal - Elinchrom lighting, 3 ea. 580 EX II's, stands, reflectors, soft boxes, umbrella's, PW's, mini-PW's, some other junk and all my lenses and digital bodies.

The Garage:
Phocal - G35 and maybe a '56 Chevy

Right now I'm available either day. Don't know if my car will be photo ready, but I can bring my stuff to shoot other cars either way.

You may want to post a link to this in the Hale thread and on HPF too.

This is the long Valentines/Presidents' Day weekend. There are a couple of photography activities on the following weekend. I'll be on in Waikiki on the 14th for our 20th Anniversary. I don't think I can make it on the 14th .

Wow, congrats Lincoln, happy 20th.

I just cleared out the 13th so I'll be able to make it there from the morning hours if necessary. If so, I'll probably show up early to reserve a spot where it would be photographically advantageous for us to set up a couple of staging areas for the shoot.

I hope the sun, surf and wind cooperates. *wendo crosses fingers*

In the next couple of days I'll post a gear/food list in the first post in this thread. With Zenghost, Stu46, Linkzi and myself tentatively attending, a lot of quality photo gear and cars/trucks is already going to be available for the shoot. The more the merrrier though!

That made me think about my relationship with my wife...I've known her for 31 years now. Funny, doesn't feel that long.

I'm presently dating a classmate of mine that I knew starting back in 7th grade. We're 57 at the present so that makes our history go back 45 years to 1965. What's so funny about it is after we renewed our acquaintence we discovered that we each had a crush on each other back then but both of us was too afraid to do anything about it. Cute yeah? LOL

Sorry to hear that. Keep monitoring this thread though, as the date may change for some odd unforseen reason or another.

I actually knew my wife since the 8th grade in '79 but never saw each other again after that grade until '87.

Me too! (But I'm 24.) haha. We never hung out or really talked until after I graduated college.
