*Edit* Used these pics to get into Model Mayhem. Thanks for the comments/critique guys! PROFILE (external link) I'll look to try more shoots and improve from there.

---------------
I didn't post this in 'Weddings' because these aren't actual brides, but mods can move it if they feel like it.

I got a chance to learn from a local professional photographer Dmitri Markine (www.dmitrimarkine.com (external link)) at a small workshop that he was running. I learned a lot from him and it was great fun. This was at a poorly lit hotel and I had to shoot with higher iso, so my pictures may show noise.

This is my first time taking pictures of not just models but people in general and I only got into photography this month so any criticism is welcome. There is so much more for me to learn and I am enjoying it so far.

Thanks guys. Well, I officially started this month because I purchased a DSLR for myself for Christmas and opened it up after the new year, but I actually got interested in photography about 2 months before that. For the time before I decided to make the purchase, I spent reading online forums, 'Understanding Exposure' by Bryan Peterson, and watching youtube videos. I wanted to understand what I was getting myself into.

I didn't fully understand all the terms at first but once I got my camera and went through understanding exposure and the camera's manual with the actual camera, things started to make a lot more sense. I have this personality where if I get into something, I want to learn constantly about it as there will always be something you didn't know before. I enjoy making mistakes as I can figure out what I did wrong and learn from it.

I still have a lot to learn and a lot more mistakes to make.

So work on some PP I guess. I just visited your website and your work is awesome! Your post processing it perfect without going over the top of being 'over processed'. I guess I can start using photoshop more often beyond the basic editing.

Just my 2 cents, most of these seem underexposed to me. They also seem to be a little bit soft (though that may be due to compression for posting on the web). Do you have a flash for your camera like a 430exii or 580exii?

Agreed with the images needing a tad more light. I feel #5 is your best.

Thanks for comments and help guys. I looked at #4 again and it was really dark and underexposed. I went back and upped the brightness, don't really like that image anyways. And I deleted #6 which was also very underexposed and replaced it with another one.

Yeah, I purchased a flash about a week ago. I have an SB-600 (Nikon user...lol). The problem was the really high ceilings and they were weird colors. I just recently purchased a diffuser online but don't have it yet.

Very pretty, 5 turned out best in my opinion, but needs a little bit more exposure and it would be perfect.

3 has something about it as well, I wish the model's face was more in focus/clear in this one.
