f/5.6 1/640 of a second ISO 2000 ( for no reason that I remember) 100-400mm at 370mm. He was about 80 yds away from me or a little more. No fear on his part. I think I was shooting AV priority. I've been having a little trouble with focus. The photograph looks better before I posted it and emails nicely, for some reason it didn't post well.

Thanks for the reply Jack. I also have problems with download quality to the net. It's hit and miss for me and I haven't figured it out yet.
Your second shot just looks to have a bit of noise in the background, I was suprised when I saw you used a 7d as most everything I see out of them, even with high iso, has very little noise. Must be in the transition to the net.

I see the noise. I am just now learning to process properly. It is not too complicated, but it looks like practice is needed to develope an eye for it. PSE8 has a save for web feature that I just found and it saves me a ton of time getting the right 150KB. I was having to guess and save many many times to get the optimal size. I think a lot of my noise was caused by a lot of different factors. I may have figured it out. I hope.
