I just bought a secondhand Canon 50D as an upgrade...but unfortunately for me the camera strap has not been attached. These things always confuse the heck out of me. I tried with my previous 40D and did not have any luck. Is there any video or better instruction available online for people like me (with IQ's lower than 75) than those brief instructions provided in the manual?

Thanks all!

Put your head thru the middle, the camera will rest against your stomach.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Please, don't apologize! I deserve being mocked. I'm sure most second-graders could figure it out.

Things I have learned to add to the above advice:

1) When you have got the strap attached you'll find you put it on the wrong way round.
You'll carefully redo it but somehow it will still end up the wrong way.

2) Even when you have got it on the right way, the ends will still poke you in the eye at inopportune moments when you turn the camera round to portrait orientation.

My advise, throw it out and get one of these:

Easy to install, secure, and way way more comfortable than what Canon provides.

If you still need help, I can try to take a picture of the buckle.
I looked for a pic online, but I didn't see anything.

I think I just realized I put mine together wrong....I bet the little plastic "wrap" is supposed to hold the loose ends isn't it? I have it between the buckle & the camera where it doesn't do anything.

The POTN camera strap is a doddle to attach and it is much more comfortable thaan the Canon strap. Click on the link at the top of the page which will take you to the store. :)

Here's an easy way to solve the camera strap problem.
