This week's Macro DSLR Challenge topic is:

The Bathroom

I was wondering what to choose as a theme for this week and as I was creating the new challenge and I was still uncertain about it, then... it came to me
why not a theme from the bathroom, there is many thing in there that can be a subject, so there it is
anything from the bathroom: toothbrush, air brush, soap, toilet paper, etc...
and no poop please to keep it in the good taste area ;)

Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR camera
2. Lens - Any lens, or attachment that can give Macro photos (ex. extension tubes, bellows, macro filters, reverse mounted lens and of course a true macro lens.).
3. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
4. Size - Please see the Image posting rules.
5. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
6. Posting -
* ONE MACRO PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
* Photo Name/Title in the message.
* Camera model & lens used in the message.
* Post brief Exif data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used in the message.
* Notes - anything you feel you need to explain.
7. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
8. Questions - Use PM
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends - 8:00 PM Eastern Tuesday, february 2, 2010. Winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

98.6 degrees

It's a good thing I bought a new thermometer the other day. I managed to break this one in the process of shooting it.

OK, to sum this up

John_B: your toothbrush seams to have had a rough life, good details
XxBiJoUxX: at first I was like "EWWW!" then searched what was "Bebe Young Care Peeling" and figured it was the outlet of a tube or bottle a cream of some sort, but is it supposed to have all those orange and yellow things in it? interesting view :)
XboxWeasel: like the details on that TP, and thanks for taking a pick of an unused one... lol
monty28428: is that a bullet hole in your deodorant??? :p
Canon_Luver84: good focus on that...?!... bubble, yours is the only one I coudn't identify, good shot
Jason C: like the view angle on tha rasor, looks like a monolythe of some sort...
lavanut: are you sure you're not suffering hypothermia? can't see the mercury at the 98.7 line... nice :)˙
WarLord: your toothbrush is clean, compared to John's toothbrush, yours look like new

ok now is the winner: difficult choice

I'll give it to Jason C, I like the monolythe like rasor

you're up

Congrats, Jason! That was a cool shot.

Xbox, this was the TP shot I did, but you beat me to posting. I was going for the pattern with sidelighting.

Daniel, I actually had taken my temp to get it to register, but it's usually below 98.6, so I tried to heat it a bit to get it up to the mark. In the process I managed to crack and ultimately break off the bulb. Hence, no line to see. I went ahead with the shot anyway since other folks beat me to posting the other ideas I had (TP, razor, toothbrush). I guess that's what I get for not jumping on it sooner. Thanks for the challenge!!

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Daniel, thanks for the nod and the words for all. Thanks Monty, Lisa and the Weasel. I dug all the shots, and I seriously thought John's grungy (time for a new one, buddy... ;) )toothbrush was gonna pull it off.

I'll have the new challenge up tomorrow, at around 6PM Pacific.

Thanks again.

Jason C
