Hey all,

I've finally settled on a website to showcase my photography. It's currently more of a gallery/blog than it is a portfolio. This will eventually change as I build up more portfolio-worthy pictures.

Enjoy, and let me what you think!

The site was made by POTN's own "Jay Jay." It was incredibly easy to set up, I love the simple look, and Justin has been very helpful. If you're looking into creating a website, check him out.

It looks good and you've got some nice images! Now you need to focus your attention to the SEO stuff. You do want to be found in Google, right? Suggesting changing your page title 'Home - Sean Naber Photography' to something that helps people find you....your location and a few of your specialties (keywords).

Thanks for the tip. Done!

1: Favicon
2: Rearrange words in title. Home should not be first
3: I want your e-mail-address.

Absolutely one of the best I've seen here.

1. Hmm, never thought about that. Should be pretty easy to create.
2. Now it says "Home - Baltimore, MD - Creative Freelance Photography"
Should I just ditch the word "Home" alltogether?
3. You mean you think it should be listed somewhere? How about I replace my little tagline ("I take pictures, you look at them. Deal?") with my email?

Thanks!

Hm, probably. At least "Home" doesn't deserve first spot. I can currently read the 3-4 characters on a tab, and if I open only a few more, that's reduced to 2-3 (FF on Mac OS X). Not even having a favicon there to identify a page...

Hm, at the bottom of the page is a convention. How about you do that, and on the contactpage you add something like "Or just send me an e-mail at something@domain.com (external link)". Remember to make the e-mailadress a mailto-link, so I can just Rightclick -> Copy Emailaddress.

Thanks!

Thank you. You wouldn't believe the number of people who take things personally, or just don't respond at all, not even by improving their site!

It's people like you who make this (websitecritique) worth it.

I agree with Jonta about the title, get rid of the home altogether.

I also agree that it is one of the best sites I've seen here asking for a review. Loads fast, clean presentation and easy to both read and navigate.

I disagree about making the email a link, sorry but that's just too much of a spam magnet. I'd recommend using a contact form or providing your email only after some other action is taken so that it can't be havested by spambots.

I disagree here. This would have been true quite some time ago, but nowadays, anyone can get GMail, which has an excellent spamfilter.

I can definitely appreciate your point of view on the email subject, and agree completely. However, I use gmail and the spam filter does a good enough job for me. I'm pretty tolerant, though.

Oddly enough, I don't have the ability to remove the "home" from the title myself, haha. I'll get it changed soon, though.

Thanks for the kind comments on the site. I'll be adding a few things here and there, but it's pretty much where I want it to be at this point. Time to get out and shoot and build up that portfolio!

The link in your profile is dead but your signature link works. I need too work on my site not happy with the host option and I paid upfront for a year. It will soon run out and will change hosts . I own the domain through so I hope that when I switch that don't become a problem. good job on the site.
