Heres a couple from our hike yesterday. This is Lower Cataract Lake, the falls were a straight uphill hike, that I am still feeling today, but it was worth it. Had to battle bright sunshine and bugs but whattya do. Anyway...........Joe

The climb made it even hotter, and carrying the camera on the tripod and climbing with one hand only added to the situation. "Joseph get your a** in here, right now!" - MY Mom

A narrow dirt road will take you to the lake.(1/4 mi from parking lot). The falls on the the other hand are a completely different story. When you get to the lake look across and up, way up and you can see the falls, the climb is a b$*&^, it is almost straight up in places, a not very defined trail gets you started and then you have to look for it all the way up, I think my wife and I made some new routes along the way. The whitewater boils down the mountain in a wall of water seems like a 1/4 mile long or better, the noise is deafening, the spray is refreshing but constant, had to cover my camera more than once. It was worth it though. If you do climb to the top PLEASE BE CAREFUL and have fun.............Joe "Joseph get your a** in here, right now!" - MY Mom

I would say it was worth the hard work to get these. Would you mind sharing the setting you used to get the photo of the falls. I would love to try my hand at it someday. 1D MKI + 1Ds MKI + 5D MKI Kit - EF17-35 f2.8L | EF24-70 f2.8 L | EF 100-400L IS | EF15 f2.8 | EF35L | EF50 f1.4 | EF85 f1.8 | EF135L | 580EX II | 580EX I | 270EX II | G12

Hope this helps...............Joe "Joseph get your a** in here, right now!" - MY Mom

I just need to find someplace with a nice waterfall and give it a try. 1D MKI + 1Ds MKI + 5D MKI Kit - EF17-35 f2.8L | EF24-70 f2.8 L | EF 100-400L IS | EF15 f2.8 | EF35L | EF50 f1.4 | EF85 f1.8 | EF135L | 580EX II | 580EX I | 270EX II | G12

Jun 28, 2005 20:37 | #13 Yes a tripod and remote release are very key elements. You live in Oregon you shouldn't have any trouble finding some falls, (multnomah). Anyway good luck and post what you get for us.....Joe "Joseph get your a** in here, right now!" - MY Mom
