also say the 1.4 has faster AF.
I really think it depends on the camera body.

But I have an idea about how one could perform such a test... using a model railroad, a tripod, a 1D mk III and a wireless remote trigger. All I need is the time to do the test. And a model railroad.

See i thought that at one time too but someone pointed out that the actual -focusing- group in most of the super teles is a very small tiny and lightweight section of the lens Gear, New and Old!
