Dear Board,

This is my girl Avalon. She was rescued by my next door neighbor and she was given to me when my lab Sidney passed away in January 2005.

After Sidney passed when I came home from work each day Avalon came and laid halfway over the neighbor's fence wagging her tail until I came to see her. A week or so after Sidney passed Avalon got into an awful fight with my neighbor's other dog and his wife said she had to go.

So she walked across the yard and into my house and life forever. I say this to all dogs I've ever known, but she really is the best dog of ever.

I'm sorry my pictures don't do her justice but here she is, the sweetest dog of ever.

Our beautiful girl Julia...we rescued her at the age of 8.5 from the French Bulldog Rescue Network. She was imported from the Ukraine with the name Black Bullet....unfortunately she was imported by a back-yard breeder. She was given to rescue when she had seizures while pregnant at the age of 8. I guess they decided that she could not make them money anymore. She has been a challenge and an amazing dog. So loyal and thankful for all the food, love and toys in her new life with us! After we had her for about 1 year she had another series of seizures and has slowly been losing the use of her back legs but is does not slow her down. She has about 20% usage left but her wheelchair gets her around. Can't imagine our life without her.

Dear RPCrowe,

Your dog just might be as beautiful as mine? ;)

Actually your dog is strikingly beautiful but the truth is they are all beautiful

Here is a better picture of my girl

This is Lucy. She was found wandering the streets of Palm Springs, California and taken to the animal shelter where she was deemed unadoptable because she was so fearful of all humans. She was pulled by a rescue group here in AZ and we found her in April of 2010.

IMAGE: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m114/BeccaNH/IMG_9909_edited-2.jpg

She was so scared of my husband (wouldn't even want to come in the house if she could see him from the door) that we finally took her to a trainer/animal behaviourist to help her get used to people. You can see that she settled in fine after that!

IMAGE: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m114/BeccaNH/Nappingonthecouch.jpg

After about a year, she started being pretty destructive. One of my friends said we should name her Katrina because she left destruction in her wake! The vet suggested that another dog might help calm her down. We took her to the rescue and after rejecting at least 10 other dogs, she accepted Linus.

IMAGE: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m114/BeccaNH/IMG_0017_edited-1.jpg

And as you can see, they have become fast friends!

My GF works at the local Dogs Trust here in the UK and we often look after dogs that are in need of some TLC or are struggling with kennel life until they can be rehomed in a new forever home

Judy, along with 3 of her litter mates where found in a livestock auction
The lady who bought them was horrified to see 3 thin and malnourished, and one badly deformed, puppies and paid the princely sum of £8 for them
Alas the deformed one had to be euthanised, but she managed to re-home 2 herself before asking The Dogs Trust to help with number 3
I’m happy to say that after stopping at ours for the last week or so, that Judy has now got a loving new home
