He now rests in his favorite spot in the yard, overlooking the park - as it should be... So sorry for your loss. What a great pic. You've captured what I believe to be the very essence of Jack, protector, keen observer, loyalty and terrific good looks. You've done him proud. ===============

Rescue group had given up finding him a home; he'd been through 4 or 5 and was deemed "hyper and uncontrollable", and had hip and ligament issues. No one wanted this big (100 lbs) sweet guy. We're thankful for that, cause now he's ours! ![]() Nice picture but it absolutely rocks with your pup in it.... ===============

Feb 10, 2010 14:25 | #82 My shelter pup--found her on my first look at PetFinder.com and drove 1.5 hours to a shelter in Paris, KY to look at her. Had to have her. That was in 2005 and I don't regret a single day..well..except for the time she ate a DVD..or was bitten by a poisonous snake.. or she got in the trash..or... yep. :P

Feb 11, 2010 00:55 | #87 Here's my Duke: He's a big ol' sweetie. He was rescued from the pound after his previous adopters RETURNED him for not being active enough. Perfect for us, since we had a toddler at the time. He may or may not have some degree of service or search training as he sits by anyone that is lying down or hurt. Weird, but maybe its just him. He's a big boy at 100lbs, but not fat...just big boned. Yes, he snores, farts, and eats us out of house and home, but I've never ever regretted having him. eeeksNYC (my blog
