Yeah I got in fairly early and grabbed a spot under the TV camera.
It had the added bonus of being in the shade - hahaha.
Spent a bit too long there afterwards though. Was there until about lap 6 then started to move around. I should have bailed at lap 3
Made a mistake and went over towards the zoo where I shot last year.
Should have gone and done some shots opposite the theatre and up Montefiore Hill for KOM.
Anyway, what's done is done. I'm reasonably happy with what I ended up with.
Next year though, I'll do things a bit differently.

I'm lovin' the first two. I'm never sure if I should focus on the riders or the banner in a shot like #1, so I try to get both. Nice low angle on #2. I've got to remember to try and lay the camera on the ground on some shots of my own. Very effective.

I usually go for the riders, after all they are the subject.
I figure that you can still read the banner anyway.

I always like to try stuff a little bit different by having a different perspective/viewpoint.
#2 was actually taken shooting through the gap underneath the barriers. You can just see them in the right hand side of the shot.
There was just enough room to fit the 70-200/2.8

What's the next race over there?

Dunno what the next race is here - not much really I would suspect. Certainly nowhere near this level. Maybe some local crit events but that's about it.
Must try to get out to the Velodrome one of these days.
