Soccer T&I layout

I've put together a Team & Individual photo layout for my sons soccer team. I'm planning to print one for each player as a season-end gift.

What do you guys think?

Looks great.

It drives me nuts to see youth soccer leagues with replica soccer jerseys that maintain the corporate sponsorship--especially AIG; should read IOU. Rock the Man U. jersey all you want--just leave off those corporation's logo. End rant. Nice pics.

Well, at first when I saw the club's logo I thought "straight rip-off - how lame" and "they're going to get sued". But when we signed up I met the clubs founder - a former Manchester United player himself! He works with the Man-U club in England still on coaching trips etc. So given the history and relationship, it's kind of cool actually. At least to me.

Sometimes when you work on something like this for that long and stare at it for hours, it gets hard to tell if it's "working" or not.

OP, this isn't working for me. The text is simple (arial?) and all the straight lines makes it look bland. Search for "memory mate graphic" for inspiration.

I do struggle with "straight-itis" a lot when I do layouts or web sites for that matter. I'm kind of OCD in that respect and definitely have to try loosening things up a bit in the future.

Typgraphy is another are where I'll have to go "Out of the box" a bit for the next project. I do tend to favour clean lines and consistency though, which is what I did here.

I've tried your search terms in Google, and for the most part got similar layouts to mine:

I think what I'll do next time around (if there is a next time) is to give each parent a simple 5x7 team shot and a nice composite with just individual pictures of their kid. The kind of "film strip on the side" look is what I've always wanted to do.
