Can we clarify which elements of the photo are actually the object in question? There is (1) a shiny metallic object at the top; (2) a textured blue object to the right; (3) an OOF pink/grey object in the centre. I assume that (1) is part of the object and that (3) is just the background; but what about (2)? Is that part of the object?

One and two are part of the object. I've been at work for an hour, but you know... I have work to do, so I didn't get to this earlier

It's not an instrument of any type, nor used in transportation or communication. It just kinda hangs around until you need it.

Nope .... it "hangs around" doing nothing until it's needed. Then it holds things up .

Yup! Don't have the full image 'cause I'm at work, but I thought it would be funny. Technically the "thingie" is the belt buckle tongue, the dark shape to the right is the buckle itself.
