Winch/locking device for climbing?

Something that holds onto a rope?...Don't know any technical names for rock climbing equipment..

Not a guess, but man form. I was reading your sig... you have the worst luck! 2 DOA lenses and a hot-pixel issue. That has to be some kind of record. Sorry to hear about that.

Well, at least 1 out of 4 ain't bad...that's how many haven't been defective "yet." Also the reason why I like Tamron so far.

I'm genuinely afraid to buy more equipment, even if I had the money.
