Well to me it looks like a guitar string wound around the tuning peg... and if I'm right I assume the article of clothing would be a g-string (so this is a G string on a guitar?) Nice clue :) very cryptic.

Don't get too hung up on the article of clothing clue. As I mentioned it is a tricky clue and you may not get it by working backwards from this clue (though yet you may)

I don't know the name, but the little "battery trap" that you can have on the back of a watch and which you open with a coin... (or something else ;-)a )
