Well to me it looks like a guitar string wound around the tuning peg... and if I'm right I assume the article of clothing would be a g-string (so this is a G string on a guitar?) Nice clue very cryptic.

I assume you mean brassiere. Then wrong.

Don't get too hung up on the article of clothing clue. As I mentioned it is a tricky clue and you may not get it by working backwards from this clue (though yet you may)
