I just heard VANOC is seriously considering either taking down the fence around the cauldron, or at least re-arranging it to allow people some more access due to the number of complaints received.

I don't know how true this is, but I really hope they do something about it! :)

I'll bring my bolt cutters. Who wants to help? :-)

i'm down to help. i know they've rec'd a lot of criticsm regarding the fence. i'd be very surprised to see them completely remove the fence. They have enough security standing around to keep it safe round the clock so i hope we get better access.

just finishing a 12hr work day. next 2 days off!!! hoping to have my camera glued to my hand and my feet glued to the DT pavement. :-D

They should at least put holes big enough for a lens to stick past.

I got stuff for taking pictures. :o When things are unclear - It's time to refocus.

Ok a few more from me, then I'll give the cauldron/IBC shots a break (unless I get some really nice ones)

Well, supposedly the fence is there to keep people away from the IBC (Intl. Broadcast Centre), which is right next door. However, with all the protests going on these days, I can also see why they would want to keep people some people away from the Cauldron to prevent any potential vandalizing.

Here are some of mine from this am......I really hope they do
something about the fence as well.
All of the folks down there when I was there at about 7 am were
super friendly and that includes the police on duty.

There was a quick story about the fence on the news tonight...it does look like they are going to do something about...what that something is, we'll have to wait and see.

Here are some from today...and what a beautiful day it was :D

Walking across the Granville St Bridge

Still on the bridge...a little better view of what is now Switzerland House

We took a ride on the Vancouver Streetcar...pretty damn busy, especially at the athlete's village end :)

anyone?

i'm headed down to bc place for a victory ceremony and would love to bring my camera.
