so a dslr camera with telephoto lens r ok??

hard to say. usually, event at GM place and BC place don't allow for anything longer than 70mm.

however, the Olympic site only says you can't use a flash?

I still haven't gotten a reply. How did you make out, Chris?

Here's the only bit I've seen:

Very nice shots Hoff!
i was curious why are peoples asking for affordable homes and checked real estate prices on mls.ca.: crazy, unbelievable expensive. Below are few samples:this doesn't look like a millionaire house. This kind of houses are selling for 50-70,000$ , here in Windsor,ON.

listed for 1,200,000 $

Land value. I'm guessing the houses on each side are monster houses. These would be tear-downs.

+1

There are several of these types of sales not far from where I live in the million plus range as well. The houses (sheds) probably look worse than those pictures as well. Basically it'll be purchased, torn down and then a custom house will be built on it. It's funny though sometimes when driving by, you'll see these small houses and then right next door the neighbors have huge million dollar mansions.

I've never been able to understand the desire to have an 8,000+ SqFt home built three feet from your neighbor...

Another thing to remember is that these protestors likely don't have jobs or a down payment and are unable to qualify for any mortgage. I don't think they're protesting the cost of buying a house, they want affordable rental housing in the city, preferably in one of the chic areas. :)

I'd like to see the rest of the sign that has the $375/month on it.

Someone I know brought in his 7D and 70-200 F2.8 IS without a problem. Looks like it's ok bringing a DSLR with you to venues.

I've booked off all the afternoons for this week and next. I've wasted time at the O-zone in Richmond and Holland Park in Surrey.

Any suggestions where I can go and actually be entertained while getting some interesting photos? Has the fence been changed at the cauldron?

According to CBC this morning, VANOC is (apparently) making an announcement about it tomorrow.
