I so missed the chance to take a great photograph but I thought it was still just a bit cool looking enough to post....I would appreciate it if I could get some feedback on settings that I should have been using...I will say this, it is a handheld shot.

Side lit and partial shade..not sure what could improve your chances as far as settings are concerned.

First off, thanks for the compliment...i truly didn't expect to get any on this shot since it is far from sharp, imo....as for how long it took...Had my camera with me while driving thru the park...saw the Eagle, stopped and clicked off the first image at 10:44:25....the above image was taken at 10:44:57...so that means I waited just 32 seconds...as far as distance goes, all the shots were taken from where I stopped, 269' away.
