I am trying to work around this little problem..

I severed all my nerves on one side, the flexor and one of the arteries.

My daughter took the pic and the camera was a little too heavy for her.

Looks like I am going to have to find a way to work around this as my recovery time is going to be LONG they tell me. :(

I had closed the lid of an olive jar and when the lid was tight the shoulder of the glass just broke away, must have been a fault in the glass. Anyway, my hand had momentum and kept running around the broken edge, cutting my finger to the bone. It didn't hurt much but I lost plenty of blood.

Ouch! Hopefully it'll heal quickly without too much pain involved.

Yow!

That doesn't look good at all. Hoping your recovery is faster than the experts are thinking/saying it will be.

Ouch! A similar thing happened to me a few years ago while hand washing some wine glasses. I hope you heal up soon. Does this mean we get to start referring to you as Frankenfinger? :)

Funny enough is that my first name starts with Z too! ;) My daughter said the same thing.

Docs say that I won't have feeling in that side of my finger for at least a year or more. But should be able to hold the camera again in about 3 to 4 months!

Thanks for all the well wishes guys.

Reminds me of something that happened to a friend a couple years back.

I had a nice wooden sign routed out for him:

Ouch nasty cut man! Hope it heals up well.I just picked up my camera, and was trying to figure out a way you can still shoot. Maybe try just taping your pinky and ring finger together, and keep them straight and use your other 3 fingers to grip the body? Kind of hang those two fingers straight underneath the lens.

Bet you're cut up about not being able to use the camera for a while
Sorry, just couldn't resist the poor Aussie humour.

If it is just the finger, (and I say this as if I would not be crying like a little baby), would it be possible to get a wrist strap to keep the camera against your palm, and support all the weight with your left hand?
