I went out to SI's website (external link) and am surprised to find that they aren't putting the most current camera model settings out there. Does anyone know if there's an updated version of this anywhere?

I've looked and looked and haven't ever found anything newer than settings for the MkII...

I don't think SI has updated that site in at least 5 years...

Do I enable that in the Pfn menu? Do I need to hook it up via firewire to do that?

That reminds me, do I need to hook it up via firewire to enable the Pfn menus & put in my "author" name.

No. There are no personal functions like the MK2n and older 1D series. Everything is a custom function and is accessible from the camera’s CF menus. You connect to Canon utilities to enter your name like before, but with USB2. No Fire Wire connection. Much nicer.

My set up is simple. No assist points. One point selected (any of the 19 work well, no need for center point only stuff). AF drive sensitivity to 0. I used slow for my MK2, but 0 (normal) works better on the MK3 IMHO. CFIII-3/0, CFIII-4/1, CFIII-8/0, CFIV-1/2. I've tried the AF assist points turned on and feel I have a better keeper rate (due to focus) with them off. This set up has worked for me pretty well shooting ice hockey and gymnastics in Servo mode.
