These are two of my closest friends, who ended getting engaged on top of one of winter park's Mountains last month. They asked me to do their wedding and their engagement photos so we are taking care of all of that now. Most of these were with the mkIV, some being with the mkIIn and a couple with the 40d. Exif is in the images.

I really like 1 and 7, great portraits which is what I like in engagement pictures. I like the ring shot too. I'd have liked 6 better without the foreground electrical boxes. I like 8, but and would have loved it if their faces were less cropped. Great job.

I love the shots and I love the ones without their heads they're different and show another perspective. As long as the couple dig them thats the most important thing.

Who said that heads always needed to be in portraits? Just something different.

Some odd poses and one shot with really odd PP, but other than that -- They look like a fun set. It could be a little more "ordered" for my liking, but that's just personal preference.

Good set, otherwise!

really like 7. It is blown out but it works well here. i agree with the electrical box comments on 6 and the heads being cut off in 8. No heads in 4 is fine. The reason I don't like it in 8 is because the crop is right through the head and not the upper chest area.

Gotcha. Thanks Sctbiggs. I understand the cropping issues..Thanks for your help.

Just a side note on the Box thing... The reason I decided to do this was so that it would appear to be a voyeuristic type moment and make it seem like the viewer was peering around the corner. So that is why I did that. made sense in my head lol

i understand why you did it. And it makes sense. As I look at it again and now know what you were going for I have to ask, does the couple in that pose look like something your average voyer would care to be peeping on? Not really...

Maybe if he had her pushed up against the wall and was kissing down her neck and her hands were... ... well, you get the point. It just doesn't look like something somebody looking to see some action would be watching. :D

Absolute favorite is #7, also love 1 and the ring shot. I always like the out-of-the-box shots, and like yours too, but think you got some good advice from posters on how to improve (which I tend to use myself!). Beautiful couple! They should be well pleased with your shots.
