Its about time I have a prime again. I am curious how it stacks up with the 85mm 1.2L, I will have to do a search.
......I miss my 85L :(
Some day I will have that bad boy again! bw!

They're both great. I opted for the 1.8 over the 1.2 but the 1.2 is one you always lust after. A great combo would be the Mark I 1.2 AND keeping the 1.8 :D

Wow, you must have been unlucky with your copies. My old 85 1.8 was very accurate in the AF department and very fast. I wish I hadn't got rid of it since it was very, very sharp at F2.

My second is better than my first, but compared with my 70-200f/4L, my 17-55 IS, my Tokina 12-24, and even my Sigma 50 f/1.4 neither was especially good.

Canon 5D Mark IV, 24-105L II, 17 TS-E f/4L, MPE 65, Sigma 50 f/1.4, Sigma 85 f/1.4, 100 f/2.8L, 135 f/2L, 70-200 f/4L, 400 L

It is a pretty nice lens, especially for the price, but I never seem to use it...always go for the 35L or 135L instead.

Anyways, Congrats on the pick up!

when you pick up the 85L, you will use it more. I find the 85L and the 85 1.8 to be worlds apart. I've had so many copies of the 85 f1.8 and i've been trying to love them prior to the jump to the 85L, but i just couldn't.
