More time to shoot, and more skill so I can make better use of the gear I already have.

This.

And a wide lens of some sort... and probably one of the 70-200 lenses... And more money to afford all of it.

Gripped 50D | Currently lens-less... working on rectifying that :D

Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III or Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
300mm f/2.8L IS USM
And maybe a new wide angle like the 17-40mm f/4L USM
or 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM if I go with the MK IV

Decisions Decisions

Given this has been resurrected, updates to earlier posts could be interesting.

I originally said I wanted a 7D and that it probably wouldn't happen. It hasn't, and now will not unless for some reason I go to some level of photography where I need a pro level camera.

Since my original entry, I've upgraded Apple Aperture to v3. I bought a gel kit and diffuser for my 430EX. This week I bought the EF 85mm f/1.8, and haven't yet had much quality time with it yet. Over the next few days I expect to spend time with it.

Next in the queue of ideas is studio lighting. I'd like to get a medium size softbox for portrait photography. I know I'm not ready for it as a softbox typically consists of lots of separate components. Regardless, that's my current heading.

Canon 50D, 60mm Macro lens, and the MTL9361 or MTL 9351..think the MTL9361 is an overkill, though I was drooling all over it at Jessops

I'd like a new neck strap and a precision focusing screen if I'm lucky....

At the beginning of the year it was:

5D2
70-200 2.8L IS
24-70 2.8L
100-400 4/5.6L
100 2.8L Macro IS
Flashgun but not sure which one
New camera bag to carry it all

So far I have managed the camera and the first two lenses on the list, so it's looking good so far. Hoping to get the rest in the next month or so, so I have no idea what the rest of the year is likely to bring.

At the beginning of time there was absolutely nothing. And then it exploded! Terry Pratchett

Originally I was thinking of getting a 5D classic but recently I bought my 40D, which I like.. so I think I will save up for a 5DmkII in the long run (may or may not be this year). I do not want to sell my 30D for sentimental reasons.

But before I get a 5D2:
580EX (II)
Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS (if It's really good) or Canon 17-55IS (which I will sell later when I am ready for the 5DmkII)
It's looking like the Sigma 70-200 OS is going to be more then $1200 so I may upgrade my 70-200 to the f/4L IS version, but it's at the bottom of my priorities.

Sony A6000, 16-50PZ, 55-210, 35mm 1.8 OSS
Canon 60D, 30D
Tamron 28-75 2.8, Tamron 17-35, Sigma 50mm 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.8

On my wishlist:
5D mk II
Sigma 12-24
A new computer to deal with all the fun little processing things I've learned; this 2 year old laptop isn't cutting it anymore! ;)

Just took a look at this, and boy, oh boy do I just not know how to stop adding to a list....

On my current list:

A set of square filters (GND mainly) for vacation in June
A new computer - this 2 year old laptop is rapidly nearing its limits!
-------Adobe CS5 for said computer
A ball head for my monopod
Another Speedlite (I've got a good line on one, just finalizing if I want to pull the trigger)
5D MK II (and if I get that, the very next thing will be a Sigma 12-24. Period! ;))
A new 70-200 f/2.8 of some flavor as long as it has IS/OS/VC (LOVE my Tamron, but I need USM & IS)

I did get to cross off one thing: A smaller bag that doesn't hold EVERYTHING so I don't feel like I need to take everything with me all the time.
