So, the new-to-me 300 f/2.8L had not been properly calibrated-by-duck since I got it a few weeks ago.

My drop-in polarizer came the other day, so I headed to the pond.
A couple of things: I'm pretty darned lousy at BIF, and besides that, somebody is no doubt going to tell me thems ain't ducks !

Well too bad....I figure they're fowl and what I lack in quality I made up for in quantity.;) Consider the lens properly broken in now.

Tell me about it! Feathers and blood everywhere. Easy to hit though, and great with red wine.

Sorry for the off topic, looks like the lens does its job quite well!

;) good ducks calibration with goose ....8-) .. even if it's diificult with small pictures to appreciate I like the results ..

On my side .. first static test with canon polarizer drop-in ... is not very good , my 5DMKII'electronic is almost lost and image becomes really dark, sharpness seems to be very far from the standard filter  ...

Next week, I go to huge quadbike race on the beach in Le Touquet, I think I won't use this filter .. too risky for me  .. probably, I don't know how to use it correctly ...

Race is only 3 hours so not so much time to make a good job with my 24L1.4II, 135L2.0 and 300L2.8 mixed with TC2X... pity I expected good things near the sea with this filter

It doesn't look very good all compressed and everything here....but the original looks really good on the monitor here at home. Man...I love this 300 !
