Oh yea, that crop offers a much stronger presentation of this photo. I like it a lot, again well done in capturing the moment.

Great image.

IMO all firefighters are crucial to the image as they show the different roles a fireman takes on the job. I find that the balance is off due to the amount of ground visible in the foreground. Once this is cropped the main characters become more prominent. A panoramic format lets the viewer take in a wider scene which in turn provides more information for the story.

There is such a powerful pull to the men with the hose due to a strong graphic silhouette and dramatic light source close by drawing the eye towards the subject. This arrangement gives me a central place to come back to after surveying the nooks and crannies of this image. There are several images within this image each with their own sub story.

If I were going to crop it, I'd do it this way. Only bigger, from the orginal.

These are stunning, but #1 in BW is just top notch. Captures it all. The color almost takes away of the fear, the urgency and the seriousness of the situation.

Now if I am one of the two firefighters in the background, I want the color photos - which is great use of the tower light.

nice, nice, nice. very dramatic. Well done on all versions. I prefer the first black and white, as well as the last suggested crop. Depends on the story the artist wants to tell and how image might be used.

This might make a beautiful framed image for the fire station where these heroes are from.

(Amateur here!) I agree with cropping, but in between the outer tree and the fireman and also a bit off the bottom. The color gives me more feeling and with the crop, I'm better able to focus on that feeling... Great shot BTW.

Definitely B&W, wish there was a little less noise though.
