This was a great game Saturday night at the Joe. Mich State won Friday evening at home and then gave a 3 goal lead to Mich in the 1st period, came back to tie and take the lead, then Mich tied the game on a shorthanded tally and then scored again to win 5-4........

Nice shots.....I can't imagine what all that ice does to your exposure and WB. I have never shot hockey, but shooting in gyms the colors of the bleachers to the wall can really screw with the WB.

Nice captures Tom, didn't get to see the game actually forgot it was on, but sounds like it was a exciting one.

Thanks everyone for the comments..... That really was a great game. fweasel, hope you have some decent weather for the outdoor game. Cannot wait to see some shots from that!! Bradfordguy, my settings were iso 400 f 7.1-8.0 depending on the end of the arena and my shutter speed was 500th. Those were shot on strobes (6) speedotron heads. MKIV using the pocketwizard Flex TT5 to obtain the higher shutter sync....... Frank cannot wait to get back to somne of the airshows and Andy, good luck with the wedding shoots...... :)

Suggestions for settings? I'll be shooting with a 30D and a 55-250 zoom from the stands. I have no idea where the game is being played, how far I'll be from the boards or what the lighting will be like. Oh, and I'm a complete novice.
