Hello potn users, name is jimmy, im pretty much new to the dslr world. I love taking pics and i am starting to get hooked! Pretty much wanna know if anyone here can point me towards the right direction to shoot in raw and how to process them. I just really dont know where to start...lol...such a noob!

hi jimmy and welcome

to shoot RAW you just have to switch your camera setting on to RAW and then use some post processing software

Canons come with DPP software, though i have never used it myself

i prefer to use lightroom/photoshop although the choice of software is down to personal preference and budget

processing your RAW files is not that much different to processing JPG's , if you are doing this already

if you are not, PP will open up a whole new side to your photography

yeah i have dpp installed, ive been reading and reading and reading. i shoot jpeg for now but do want to have the knoledge of processing raw images. thanks

practice, try stuff, read, try some more etc is the best way to learn

have a look at this thread of before and afters to get some inspiration as to what is possible and things to try to work out how to achieve
