Anyone ever use a filter holder with a 4x6 gnd stacked with a 4x4 nd on this lens for landscapes? Could I get by with this set up using a 67-77mm step up ring? What I have is the 77mm z pro filter ring since I have been using this set up on the 17-40 but I was thinking of getting the step up ring so I could use this set up on the 70-200?

Shouldn't be any problem with vignetting, especially on a crop at that focal length range. One potential problem can occur if your present 77mm adapter ring is the wide angle variety, and not the standard. The WA rings sits a few mm further back, and when I attach it to my B+W non-slim CPL, there's barely enough room to grab with your fingertips when trying to separate the two. Since the step ring is fairly thin (much thinner than a regular CPL), this will be a problem for you once the step ring has been attached to the lens. Other than that, the arrangement should work fine.

One easy fix would be to attach the WA ring somewhat tightly to the step ring BEFORE attaching the step ring to the lens. When attaching the assembly to the lens, thread the step ring LIGHTLY onto the lens, making for easy removal. Once the assembly has been removed from the lens, its very easy to remove the step ring from the adapter. If the step ring is attached tightly to the lens, then you will have the problem. Hope all of this makes sense...

Yes and thanks for your reply. I will order the 67-77 step up ring and give this set up a try. Since I was using this z pro holder with my 40D and17-40 I have the regular 77 mm adapter for the holder.
thanks again argyle
