Last night, was planning on going to Piha, but at the last minute, drove to Muriwai instead, and met my cousin and her friends.

We took a short stroll down the beach, and then went back along. The sunset disappeared behind clouds on the horizon, so there was nothing spectacular. :(

I only had my 17-40 and a 400mm prime.
My 70-300 is in for repairs, and I could have desperately needed that focal length, for getting a shot of the clouds, horizon and sun. Couldn't fit them in with 400, and 40 is just too wide.

So here are a few pics.
I'm not happy with them, as the after dark shots, (15-35min after sunset), it was windy (50km/h+), and tripod kept shaking, making blurred and soft pics. So I had to sharpen them a bit, but not the greatest.

There's always a next time.

It's not just ugly, but annoying also, that there are no buses or trains going out to these distant places!

Its the lack of people that annoys me, how on earth do you enjoy a beach when its not covered in swarms of people?

Looking at the exif, that's 5:42pm in the evening!
Most the above shots were before this time. I really hate winter.

#5 would be great if you quick clone stamp the sign out from the center of the image. I live by Waikiki Beach and it's never empty like these shots.

Oh, there is a sign indeed. I guess it could be removed. Usually, I only remove dust specs when printing images.
These haven't had any cloning in the skies, and quality saved pretty low, so you can clearly see the jpg compression, but keeps the bandwidth down. ;)
2,5Gb in April from POTN alone.

Nice Shots! I particularly like the fifth one of the "cliff" edge.

Great shots. Especially like the cloud reflections.
