Hey Guys,
Just got my hands on a 350D last week and stumbled upon your site.
Took this photo yesterday here in Melbourne.

Constructive criticism welcome :)

Is it a crop from a larger picture, or a "stitched" panorama?

Very nice colors and lighting, etc. I like the mood it onveys. If it is a multi-image panorama, it is well done.

Its a crop from a much larger picture. This was taken in Altona in Melbourne's western suburbs overlooking Cherry lake. The buildings in the distance are some of the refineries we have near the bay.

Thanks for your encouragment guys, here's another...

Gday Nick,
I like the 2nd pic better - the orange is stronger and covers more of the pic.

nice shots. the oranges and reds are great. I'd suggest trying to adjust the blues a bit to get rid of the greenish tone.

very nice, was this with the kit lens?

I like the first one, mainly because of how the duck is swimming into the photo from the bottom right

Welcome to the Forums
Nice first image - great colour and foreground interest - horizon could do with straightening. just a shame the duck in the bottom right hadn't been a little further to the left! :)

Nice sunset colors there. Altona isn't it downtown near the Westgate (searching neurons full of corrupted data due to one of those hazy-Melbourne-Cup visits down south...

+ welcome to another aussie - we'll have our own chat room at this rate.
