As some of you know, my daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at 20 weeks pregnant with her first child in late oct. We didn't know if he'd make it with the chemo etc. but bless his tiny heart--they induced early and here he is! His mom is doing okay and is so enamored and thankful he made it that she's ready to continue her battle with him by her side.

Emmett @ 3 days old, just about 5 lbs.

and at 5 days:

Nancy, he is adorable as can be. I'm glad to hear that he made it through the chemo ok. Thoughts and prayers for your daughter and Emmett. It looks like she's got a good battle buddy.

Thank you so much. We are so thrilled as his safe arrival is the best event we've had in months. There are photos of his birth/arrival in the link if you're at all interested--and I have to say, I didn't have the 5DII with me at the time but the 50D did a marvelous job!

Like most guys, I looked at the pictures before reading the story. First impression was number 1 is one of the best baby pictures I have ever saw.

After reading the story.....Emmett was truly sent from God.

Your daughter and family are in our prayers.

Nancy, what a beautiful baby and to have him when so much was at stake. Your family truly is blessed and this little one will give you even more hope.

I see you used your 50D in natural light. Such a great shot. Keep us posted, and many positive thoughts and prayers for your daughter and family. Keep documenting the baby's growth. And take lots of pictures of your daughter, as best you can. I lost a good friend last year to cancer, she battled for 4 years. She had a 4 year old daughter and I took many portraits for them. They treasure even the silliest snapshots. Don't give up hope, but do the pictures anyway.

He's a beautiful little peanut! What a beautiful daughter you have as well. I looked at the gallery and you captured wonderful moments and emotions! My granddaughter was full term and only weighed 5.4 (drs suspected a placental issue). So tiny. I am waiting for my grandson who's due this month and hope I can get as nice a collection as yours. I'll keep your family in our prayers.

He is beautiful... and I"m sure he will bring your daughter much happiness, along with a really good reason to continue fighting... She is lucky to have a loving family around to support and help her. :)

Congratulations!
