I'm not very good at this stuff. Finding interesting landscapes that are usually hidden behind tree's and hedgerows can be tricky unless you go mountaineering which there are not many of in the South East of England. Anyhow I went out testing a cheapo grad grey filter I plopped on my 450D yesterday. Not exactly examples of the use of but these were a couple of favorites out the bunch.

This one shows the grad a little more at the wider end. I can see why a proper ND grad is desireable as you can reposition it where you like. Unlike this fixed filter.

It can also be used for interesting effects when used to one side.
